    Yes

    London, England·1968–present

Yes took rock's ambition to its most extravagant extreme: side-long compositions, Roger Dean's fantastical artwork, Rick Wakeman's cathedral-sized keyboard rigs, and Jon Anderson's ethereal vocals. Steve Howe's acoustic and electric guitar work added classical and folk textures.

Close to the Edge is their artistic peak: three tracks of interlocking complexity that reward repeated listening. The band's lineup changes were constant and bewildering.
