Ross the Boss, 1954 to 2026
Ross 'the Boss' Friedman, founding guitarist of Manowar and a key figure in the early days of American power metal, died on March 26 from ALS. He had publicly disclosed his diagnosis in early February. Before co-founding Manowar in 1980, Friedman played in proto-punk legends The Dictators. He was 72.
